Welcome to my website, my diary, expressions of my imagination. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and that they open your imagination to new things.

Rashad’s works are unique. His inspiration is truly his own and not influenced by another. His drawings can be seen as mythical creatures or plants; ambiguous forms of an irreal world inspired from the real world. They really have a character of their own and are sometimes rather frightening, cuddly or humorous, and sometimes all at the same time. Rashad has chosen not to give titles to his work, in order to allow the viewer to explore his or her own inspiration. They are simply given a reference code.

“I found myself looking at a finished drawing imagining a whole life for that form; where it came from, in what element it lives and how it moves, but when I showed it to others they saw, with fascination and conviction, something else. And for me that is the strength of what I have given birth to, it can awaken the creativity in a person, and I love to hear what it inspires in each person. That’s when I decided not to give them a name, nor a right way to hang them, because when you turn it around it can become something else. That’s why I’ve signed them ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ and you can even put them on their ‘side’.”
